William A. Holmes, Jr.

William A. Holmes, Jr., age 87, of Penn Hills, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.  Beloved husband of the late Maureen A. (O’Connor) Holmes.  Loving father to Marcia (Robert) Synan.  Grandfather to Morgan (Guido, IV) Bucci and Bridget Synan (Christopher Cavlovich).  Great-grandfather to Guido Bucci V, Kellan William Bucci, Ronan Robert Bucci.  Son to the late William A Holmes, Sr. and Adeline E. (Strothers) Holmes.  Brother to the late Marilynn (Aubrey surviving) Larrow.

William, who proudly served in the US Army and US Army Reserves.  He also enjoyed bowling, golfing, working out in his yard, and spending time with his family.  Gone from our home that smiling face, the cheerful, pleasant ways – the heart that won so many friends.  In happy bygone ways.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, November 26, 2023, from 3 – 8 pm at the Findlay C. Wylie Funeral Home Inc., 11311 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills.

Service held Monday, November 27, 2023, 11:00 am at the funeral home.

Entombment to follow service at Good Shepherd Cemetery, Monroeville.
