Thomas Schmel

Age 65, of Verona, peacefully passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025.  Tom was born on May 28, 1959, in Warminster, PA., to the late Hank and Delores Schmel.  Loving father to Leticia Stern, Russell Schmel, Brian (Danielle) Schmel, and Michael Thomas (Sydney) Schmel.  Grandfather to Autumn Rose Schmel and Boston Schmel.  Brother to Lorretta (Steve) Morgan, Michael Schmel, Karen Schmel, Carol Schmel, Bill (Elizabeth) Schmel, Kathryn (Jeffrey) Roa, and Mariane (Gayle) Bates.  Life partner of 33 years to Patricia McGrath, and her siblings Barbara (Gary) O’Brien, Terri Cremeens McGrath, Robert (Janelle) McGrath, and the late Colleen Lucier.  Survived by many nieces and nephews.

Tom was a lifelong Pyro Technician, lover of EVERYTHING outdoors, and NASCAR enthusiast.  He was a loving and kindhearted man, devoted son and brother and loving father and grandfather.  He was the “Salt of the Earth” and will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, 12:30 pm, at the Riverside Community Church, 401 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont, PA.
