Paul J. Steve
Age 96 of Penn Hills passed away peacefully on Friday, February 19, 2021. Born July 3, 1924 in Ford City, Paul grew up in the town of Wilcox, Pa. Survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Frances. Son of the late Ann (Meleason) and James Steve. Preceded in death by his brother Lou (Clara) Steve. Survived by his sister Marie (late Bob) Cunningham. After proudly serving his country in the Navy during WWII aboard the USS Haines DE-84, Paul found the love of his life in Frances Tripoli. They met at Westinghouse Research and Development where he worked for 40 years. He was a true role model for his 7 children: Diane (Ed) Cordisco, Patty (late Sam) Owen, Paul (Jewelene) Steve, Mark (Marlayne) Steve, Marianne (Ken) Giba, Denise (Rich) Ejzak, Michael (Terri) Steve, his 19 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and his many nieces and nephews. Paul could often be found in his little workshop in the basement where he handcrafted mouthpieces for musicians all over the country. He was a master at working with wood, carving wood, and in his later years making his signature caterpillars. He had a special gift for communicating with children. He enjoyed talking and listening to them while dazzling them with his card tricks and magic. Anyone who knew Paul knows that he was a gentle, happy man who was content with the wonderful life that he had. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered forever.
