Norman Benjamin Schirm Jr., 81, of Apollo, peacefully passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023, in the presence of his loving wife. Beloved husband of Margherita E. Valentino Samay Schirm; loving father of his daughter: Kimberly Buchinsky (boyfriend, Robert Sirnic); beloved grandfather of Shelby Lynn Mostoller; and great grandfather to Peyton and Mia. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Zachary James Schirm and one great grandson Landon Malobertie. Norman was the brother of Karen (Cliff) McKee and David Schirm (Beth Gemperlein- Schirm); and is also survived by his stepdaughters: Melissa (Eric) Phares and Christina Samay and one step grandson, Matthew E. Samay. He was the son of the late Norman B. Schirm Sr. and late Myra Virginia Barnhart Schirm Porter.
Norman was a member of the United States Military for over 40 years having served in the US Navy, US Army, and National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed golfing, reading, gardening, and crafting ships and trains in his earlier years and also fishing. He enjoyed attending Summit Church in Indiana with his wife, and daughter, and also going to Pirates and Pitt games. He loved his many dogs. Above all he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He will be missed by his family and friends who loved him and knew him.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8, on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at the Findlay C Wylie Funeral Home 11311 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills
Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, November 3, 2023, at the funeral home.
