Melina DeRubeis

Our beloved mother, Melina passed peacefully from this life into the arms of our Lord and Savior on September 25, 2023.  She was the kindest, most selfless and wonderful mother.  She treasured her family and was dedicated in doing all that she could for them.  It is heartbreaking to say goodbye to such an amazing woman and a beautiful mother, but it is comforting to know that she is a peace and will always be watching over us.  She will be forever missed by all who knew her, especially her sweet cat “Sugar” who never left her side.

Melina DeRubeis of Penn Hills was born on November 18, 1930, in the small town of Spigno Saturnia, Italy.  She is the forever cherished mother of Tilda Merola (Andrew) and Andrew J. DeRubeis (Mary Kay); beloved Nana of Melissa Merola Penkrot (Vince), Mark Merola (Amber), and Andy DeRubeis.  Great Nana of Nick Penkrot and Marky Merola.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 37 years Andrew DeRubeis, who passed into God’s arms in May 1990.  Also preceded in death by her parents, Michele and Teresa DiBello and siblings Rose, Andrew, Dominic, and Maria.  She is survived by loving sister-in-law, Joanne DiBello and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family is grateful for the services of Bridges hospice, especially Theresa, for their dedicated and loving care.

All are welcome to attend a Memorial Mass and Celebration of Melina’s life which will take place on November 18. 2023 at Christ the Divine Shephard (Saint Bernadette Catholic Church) at 11:00 am.
