Mary Ann Carpenzano (Cardyn)
At the age of 96, of Penn Hills, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024. Born on May 27, 1928, to the late Andrew and Margaret (Cirincione) Cardyn. Beloved wife to the late John M. Carpenzano and of the late John L. Amiano. Loving mother to John R. Amiano and Donna Gionta (Carmen). Grandmother to Danielle N. Connolly (T.J.), John A. Amiano, Maria Tumminello (Vincent), and Gina Gionta (Trevor Arnott). Sister to Angelina Hayes (the late Robert), Anna Pieto (the late Phil), Margaret Paiano (Nick), Andrew Cardyn (the late Theresa), the late Joseph Cardyn (the late Fran), the late Charles Cardyn (Nada surviving), the late Angelo Cardyn (the late Anna), the late Thomas Cardyn (the late Jean), and the late Carmeline Bossio (the late Robert). Survived by cousins, numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was a retired Teaching Assistant for the Pittsburgh Board of Education. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, and going to the horse races, and love spending time with her family. Mary had many hardships through her life, but with her strength she overcame them. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation held Tuesday, December 10, 2024, from 6 – 8 pm and Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 4 – 8 pm at the Findlay C. Wylie Funeral Home, Inc., 11311 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills.
Funeral Mass held Thursday, December 12, 2024, 10:00 am, Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish (St. Susanna Church, 200 Stotler Road, Penn Hills.)
Interment to follow Mass at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
