Marla Mastermonico-Fruhlinger, age 66, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2025, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Born on June 30, 1958, in the same city she called home throughout most of her life, Marla spent over 20 years living in Orlando, Fla. Shes left behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unwavering generosity.
Marla dedicated over five decades to the food and beverage industry as a waitress and bartender. Her career took her across Central and South Florida and throughout Pittsburgh, where she served countless patrons with warmth and dedication. Her work was more than a job—it was a reflection of her deep commitment to people and community.
Marla was the loving daughter of the late Ralph and Darlene (Mastermonico), and the cherished wife of the late Michael Fruhlinger, who was truly the light of her life. Their bond remained an enduring source of strength and inspiration to those who knew them.
She is survived by her beloved son Nick Conley; grandsons Izaya and Luke Conley; her three sisters Nina and Debbie Mastermonico, and April Sokol; her nephew Gino Macioce, and her Aunt Millie; and her late adored brother Rocco and infant brother Joseph. Marla also leaves behind countless friends and extended family members whose lives were touched by her kindness. In particular, heartfelt gratitude goes to Sue—her best friend—and Heidi—a dear friend—who stood faithfully by Marla’s side during her final weeks.
A true warrior in every sense of the word, Marla embraced life with open arms. She was known for her selflessness—always ready to lend an ear or offer help without hesitation. Her spirit radiated joy and compassion, making her a pillar of strength for those around her.
Marla had a passion for travel and especially loved cruising. A devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, she rarely missed a home game, attending with close friends and family whenever possible. These moments brought her immense joy and created lasting memories for all who shared them with her.
As Marla would always say: "Go Steelers"!!
In honor of Marla’s love for animals—especially her two cherished cats Franco and Heinz—donations may be made in her memory to Werntz Memorial Vet Hospital at 75 Verona Rd., Penn Hills, PA 15235.
Please keep Marla’s family in your thoughts during this difficult time. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
Per Marla's request there will be no service and burial is private. We thank you for your understanding.
