Maidie Ann Nash 1.14.55-6.15.22
Today we mourn the loss of Maidie Nash from our home at Highland Road after her unexpected passing Wednesday afternoon June 15th, 2022.
Maidie lived her life here at Mainstay with the understanding that she was home, and that she was taken care of. She was never alone, even in her final moments, she was among people who cared and wanted the best for her. We never truly understand the extent of the lives we touch and how it changes us, until we feel the loss of how entwined we were changing theirs. Maidie had some difficult years along her path, but finally found her calm place in her later years at home and with her team.
She will be missed and leaves behind her memory with her housemates Pam, John and Truman who shared their lives with her; and with her caretakers Gayle, Tosha, Sha'nel, Tonya, Kaleem, Terry, Michelle, Marlana, her new team and so many others who supported her life over her years at Mainstay.
As we hold that memory close, we are comforted in the knowledge that small parts of her physical legacy will live on. Maidie's last gift to this life was giving parts of herself to recipients who are waiting for life changing organs. She also donated to health science research so students can learn and develop using pieces of who she was.
As she leaves a life of being helped by others, in her passing, she is now getting her turn to help change someone else's life as hers was. What beautiful tribute from a simple loving soul. Fly High our Mockingbird.
