Lorraine Ellen (Guras) Paullet

Lorraine Ellen Paullet, 87 of Penn Hills, passed away Saturday July 20, 2024, the gates of heaven opened, and Lorraine was welcomed by our Lord. She is survived by her daughter Patricia” Patty” Trovato (the late John Trovato), and sons Donald and wife, Wendy, and James and wife Barbara.  Grandchildren Moniqa, Christina, Sydney, Grant, Megan, Alexandra, Zachary, and Lauren.  Beloved daughter of the late Ellen and Willard C Guras and and preceded in death by her brother Charles.

She was graduate of Peabody High School and was the Vice-President of LEP Corporation, a member of Churchill Valley Country Club and American Legion #351.

Loraine loved a good road trip which often turned into a memorable story of a ticket for going TOO SLOW!  Her favorite destination was the shore and beaches of Edinboro, Erie, New Jersey and Hawaii. She loved to visit places of her faith such as the mother of Cabrini Shrine in Colorado, the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament of our Lady of Angels in Alabama, and the House of the Virgin Mary in Turkey.

Of all her travels, her trips to Europe held a special place in her heart.  Celebrating mass many times at St Peter’s Basilica in Rome a visiting the many cathedrals and churches in Spain, Greece, Turkey, France, Monaco, Italy

Horticulture was an unsung passion of Lorraine’s.  She loved her flower, vegetable and herb gardens, she also loved bingo and took home the BIG MONEY on more than one occasion.  Her favorite times were those spent with her children and grandchildren during the holidays and on birthdays, making memories to last a lifetime. 

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a donation be made to the Sisters of Charity, Seton Hill at SCSH.ORG or by mailing it to 144 De Paul Center Road, Greensburg, PA 15601.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 pm, at the Findlay C. Wylie Funeral Home, Inc., 11311 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills.

Mass held on Friday, 10 am at St. Paul Cathedral 108N Dithridge St., Pittsburgh, PA. 15213.

Entombment will follow Mass at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Penn Hills.
