Linda M. (Franklin) Regus-Smoot

   Linda Marie Davis Franklin was born in North Braddock, Pennsylvania on December 3, 1940, to Charles Franklin and Aileen Davis. She was educated at catholic schools in Braddock.  Linda was married to Gustavo Regus and from that union they had five children:  Jose’ Regus, Marta Regus, Marlena Regus, Gustavo Regus and Marcela Regus. 

     Linda was a very kind and compassionate person.  She dedicated the majority of her life to helping people in their time of need.  She valued the importance of education throughout her entire life.  Linda obtained several degrees.  At the age of 62, she enrolled in the University of Phoenix and received a Bachelors in Business Administration.  Even after her long line of degrees, she continued to serve the senior citizens at the Jefferson Manor building. She was a very festive person and loved decorating for holidays.   Every holiday she would feed the sick and shut-ins in the Jefferson Manor High Rise.  Linda was a constant advocate for helping people in their time of need.  Linda served as the Judge of Elections during voting for many years in Allegheny County. 

     On July 25, 2023, at 6:23 am, Linda departed this life for eternal life.  She leaves to celebrate her legacy her five children: Jose, Marta, and Marlena, Gustavo and Marcela.  Her grandchildren: (Oldest granddaughter) LaShawnda, Manuel, Jose’ and Shayonna; Bryan; Zaihe; Kaya, Maya, Zayla; Anita, Alesha, Gustavo, Aaron, Alliyah and Dominique; Maura, Mareesa, and Leonard.  She also leaves to celebrate her legacy 19 great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

     Linda will be greatly missed by family and friends.  She truly was a blessing to so many.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, July 31, 2023, from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm.  Service will be held 12:30 pm, at the Findlay C. Wylie Funeral Home, Inc., 11311 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills.  Interment to follow Service at Homewood Cemetery.
