Francesca (Pugliese) Immekus

On Saturday, April 27th, 2024, Francesca Immekus (Pugliese), age 67 of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, transitioned peacefully surrounded by those who loved her the most. Francesca is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Pugliese and Joanne Pugliese (Castiglione). Fran was a graduate of St. Paul Cathedral High School. She worked briefly for Wilson Sporting Goods, where she met the love of her life Thomas Immekus. She then worked for Giant Eagle as an employee trainer. She and Thomas married on September 12th, 1981. After their marriage, Fran gave birth to three sons, Daniel, Matthew and Michael, and she dedicated her life to the raising of and caring for her family.

Fran is survived by her brother Joseph Pugliese, sister Antoinette Niggl, her loving husband Thomas, her three sons, Daniel (Erica), Matthew (Haley) and Michael, as well as her seven grandchildren, David, Ashton, Colten, Karcher, Krue, Charlotte and Tessa.

Fran was a courageous warrior, who battled Multiple Sclerosis for 43 years, and in spite of her diagnosis, never complained. Her unfettered optimism was not only contagious, it was a bright spot in the life of everyone that she loved. Her eternal light will continue to shine on us all from heaven above.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 2 - 8 p.m. at the Findlay C. Wylie Funeral Home, Inc., located at 11311 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills, PA 15235.

Private Blessing Service, Thursday, for family members only.

Interment at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies will follow Blessing Service.
