Felix Fava
Age 89, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022, at Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford, PA following a short illness. A longtime resident of Penn Hills, he survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Felice and Jamie Fava; grandchildren Liam and Madeline; sisters Rita Grazia, and Delfina, and brother Rosario. He was preceded in death by his parents Nicola and Maria, and sisters Rosina and Lina. Born in 1932 in Pentone, CZ, Italy, Felix immigrated to the United States in 1949, settling in Pittsburgh with his Uncle and Aunt and extended family. As he made his new life, eventually becoming a U.S. Citizen in 1957, Felix relied on his work ethic to chart his path in his new country. While working to build what eventually became an expanded investment in real estate and property management, Felix studied Opera and pursued a brief professional career. He also honed his skill as a barber over the years (an apprenticeship he chose as a teenager in Italy), and was still cutting hair to a small network of friends until his illness. Felix married fellow Pentonese Maria Pugliese in 1976, and shared a full life together until her death in 2016. Felix drew his greatest pleasure from entertaining his family and friends (whether in song or story or shared experience), and spending time with his family especially his young grandchildren who brought great joy to his later years.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the FINDLAY C. WYLIE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 11311 Frankstown Rd., Penn Hills.
