Anthony John Tilford, 76, of Verona peacefully passed away Thursday June 1, 2023.
Beloved husband of Fran M. (Logue) Tilford; loving father to the late Anthony John Tilford, Jr. (Jill, surviving), John Tilford (Kim), Michael Tilford (Haley), Brandi Tilford (Mike); stepfather to Kim (Rick) Martin; son of the late John “Jack” and Gabrielle Tilford. Loving Grandfather to Taylor, Haley, Zachary, Angelina, DJ, and Lilyanna. Step Grandfather to Heather, Ricky, and Justin; and Step Great Grandfather to Christian, Noah, Avianna, Sawyer, Makenzie, and Gianna. Brother of late Vivan Zaparoni, and the late Darryl “Spanky” Tilford. Survived by siblings Stephen (Anita) Tilford, Patricia (Chuck) Sherman, and Debby Stanton.
Anthony was a Veteran of the US Army having served in Vietnam. He loved fishing, working on his cars with his kids and his 3 Hot Rods. He loved watching NASCAR, football and many other sports. Tony spent many years having a boat along the Allegheny River where he made many friendships. Tony also retired from OK Grocery where he was well-known and loved by all. He will by deeply missed by more than anyone could imagine.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday June 6, 2023, at the Findlay C Wylie Funeral Home 11311 Frankstown Road Penn Hills.
A Blessing Service will be held on Wednesday June 7, 2023, at the funeral home at 11:00 am.
Interment at Allegheny Cemetery, Butler Street.
